ATAE has three main objectives.
Our objectives
ATAE has three main objectives. It works to strengthen the technical capacity and delivery of its member organisations, encourage the sharing of knowledge and technical support across Africa, and promote high standards of operational excellence and accountability. This includes supporting Ministries of Education and agencies responsible for technical and vocational education and skills development.
ATAE’s members work directly with their respective governments to deliver education reforms. Where a national organisation is still being established, ATAE may step in temporarily to support its development and maintain the capacity needed to continue the work until a nationally owned member is ready to take over. Its progress is therefore reflected in the ability of its members to work with governments and strengthen national education systems.

Generate and share research, evidence and practice, and provide technical assistance to Ministries of Education, to agencies responsible for technical and vocational education, training and skills development, and to partners across Africa.

Building collective credibility through shared standards.
Shared financial, operational and governance standards, including a common internal audit framework and shared systems such as an ERP, so members can demonstrate high standards of accountability to governments and partners.
